Vesicularia and Anubias auf Lava

The aquarium plant 'Vesicularia and Anubias on Lava' is a pre-made decoration that combines Vesicularia moss and Anubias species on a natural lava stone. The porous lava stone provides a stable base while the Vesicularia moss creates a green, soft layer, and the Anubias adds visual structure with its broad, dark green leaves. Both plants are characterized by slow growth and thrive best when fixed to solid surfaces. Vesicularia is native to Southeast Asia, where it grows in moist, shady environments, while Anubias originates from West Africa and is found along streams and rivers. Maintenance requires low to moderate light conditions, a water temperature of 22–28°C, and a pH level of 6.0–7.5. Clean, well-filtered water and gentle water flow are also crucial to avoid algae issues. Trimming Vesicularia and occasionally removing algae from the Anubias leaves helps maintain plant health. Propagation occurs through division or by cutting the rhizome of the Anubias, ensuring each segment has roots and leaves. Both Vesicularia moss and Anubias grow epiphytically, which means they thrive on surfaces rather than in the substrate, making them suitable for aquascaping on hard substrates.
