Helanthium tenellum

Helanthium tenellum, formerly known as Echinodorus tenellus, is a delicate, grass-like plant characterized by its long, narrow leaves. The leaves exhibit a color spectrum ranging from medium green to olive green. Under intense light exposure, they may take on a brownish-red hue. The plant requires soft to moderately hard water for optimal growth. To achieve a dense carpet formation, the entire plant stand can be trimmed to about 1 cm. Within several weeks, an attractive, dense lawn will develop. A combination with Eleocharis gives the aquarium substrate a natural meadow appearance.
