Echinodorus cordifolius XL

Echinodorus cordifolius XL is a robust marsh plant native to the wetlands of North and South America. It thrives along the banks of water bodies, in ponds, ditches, and swamps. The plant exhibits remarkable adaptability, as it can flourish both underwater and emersed. Under submersed conditions, it develops short-stemmed leaves, while under emersed growth conditions, large, heart-shaped leaves with longer stems are produced. Echinodorus cordifolius XL regularly produces long flowering spikes with striking white flowers, on which adventitious plantlets develop. The older flower spikes tend to lean on the ground with the growing plants, giving the plant its name.
