Cyperus helferi

Cyperus helferi is the first known species of Cyperus that can be fully cultivated underwater for extended periods. Optimal growth conditions require good lighting and a stable CO2 nutrient level. These plants exhibit their aesthetic effect best in groups of three to five specimens, especially when combined with low-growing species such as Lilaeopsis, Staurogyne, or Hemianthus. Cyperus helferi is characterized by its grass-like leaves and is often used in minimalist aquascaping designs, where it can be harmoniously combined with rocks and driftwood.
